Windows 11 Is Taking Over – What Are You Waiting For?

Still Using Windows 10 in Your Business? Here’s Why It’s Time to Upgrade to Windows 11

Windows 11 adoption is accelerating, and the numbers tell a compelling story.

As of October 2024, Windows 11 holds a 35.55% market share, just three years after its release. While Windows 10 still dominates with 60.97%, the winds of change are unmistakable – and there are strong reasons for businesses to consider making the move now.

Key Deadline: Windows 10 Support Ends Soon

The clock is ticking for Windows 10. From 14th October 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free support for Windows 10. While the system will remain functional, it will no longer receive critical updates, including essential protections against malware and cyber threats.

For businesses, extended security support will be available for one more year, but at a cost of $30 (around £23) per device. This temporary solution could quickly become expensive, making an upgrade to Windows 11 a smarter, long-term choice.

Why the Surge in Windows 11 Interest?

Several factors are driving businesses to adopt Windows 11:

  1. AI-Driven PC Market Growth The rise of “AI PCs” is pushing businesses to upgrade their hardware. These devices are designed to handle AI-based tasks more efficiently and are fully compatible with Windows 11’s latest features. Additionally, the buzz around “Windows Intelligence” – a potential rebrand of Windows 11 AI capabilities – is further encouraging adoption.
  2. Enhanced User Experience Windows 11 offers a more streamlined and intuitive interface. Features like customisable widgets and an improved File Explorer are designed to boost productivity and simplify workflows.
  3. Stronger Security Cybersecurity remains a top priority for businesses, and Windows 11 delivers improved protections against threats such as:
    • Ransomware: Preventing malicious attacks that lock users out of their files.
    • Phishing Attacks: Safeguarding sensitive information from deceptive emails and websites.

Delaying the Upgrade Could Cost You

While Microsoft’s one-year extended support for Windows 10 may offer a temporary reprieve, it’s not a sustainable solution. Holding off on upgrading means missing out on enhanced features, improved security, and the long-term cost savings of transitioning now.
