Now Copilot’s going to make your team work better together

Introducing Team Copilot, the latest addition to Microsoft’s suite of AI tools designed to enhance team collaboration.

Team Copilot is an AI-powered assistant that aims to improve group activities and interactions. It offers three main functions to help your team work better together:

1. 1. Meeting facilitator: During Teams video calls, Copilot can take and share notes, create follow-up tasks, track time for agenda items, and assist with in-person or hybrid meetings when used with Teams Rooms.
   2. Group text chat assistant: Within Teams, Copilot can summarize lengthy conversations, highlight important information, and answer group questions, making it easier to stay informed without sifting through extensive chat history.
   3. Project manager: Copilot can aid in managing projects by creating tasks and goals within Microsoft’s Planner app, assigning tasks to team members, and sending notifications when input is needed.

While Team Copilot is incredibly helpful for group-oriented tasks, it does not replace the role of a human meeting facilitator. It focuses on assisting with group interactions and meetings, rather than censoring comments or ensuring inclusivity.

Team Copilot will be available in preview later this year for Microsoft 365 customers with a Copilot subscription.
